Progressing...Right Into The Grave

One of the most common things that those on the left side of the ideological divide do is to engage in the  constant use of euphemisms. It is not abortion, or more accurate the murder of unborn children, it's "reproductive rights." It's not the mutilation, castration, and destruction of the bodies of children, it's "gender affirming care." There are many others, but these are enough to get the point across. The end goal is to change language to such an extent that words really don't mean anything anymore. The better to obfuscate and confuse so that the remaking of our society continues in the background.

The other day JJ Riddick, the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, dropped an f-bomb in the middle of his very first press conference. In response to a question from a reporter about any misconceptions that he would seek to dispel in his time as head coach, he replied that he "doesn't give an f..., what people think." How's that for professionalism. In response, an outcry was raise by many who, although in most cases not condemning the language itself (many said they use the language in private themselves, which should tell us all we need to know about the state of our society), said that Riddick should not have said it in a public setting.

Thus, our society's values have become so muddled that even those who decry someone using such coarse and unbecoming language do so based on the setting and not the action. In other words, it's the situation and not the actual action that determines the rightness, or not, of the action. This attitude is situational ethics on steroids: do whatever you want in private, just don't bring it into the public square. Of course, those of the liberal (or progressive, as we are now told it should be referred to) tilt, don't even worry about whether such actions are done in public or private. Witness what goes on in the streets, public buildings, and even libraries and schools of our land!

This mess is all the more egregious when we consider the justification used to create it. I mentioned that liberalism today has been mostly redefied as "progressivism." The idea is not only to get away from a word that conjures a lot of negative feelings to many, but also to imply that being a liberal means you're on the right side of history, after all they're "progressing" you see. The problem is that, with all the policies and position that liberals hold, they're not progressing to bigger and better things. Rather, they are progressing right into the grave, however much they may want to spin it into some sort of "progress."

The left has been aptly described as the culture of death. Such a description is not an exaggeration. It truly is the culture of death. Not only is abortion a central tenet of its policy positions for example, but also, as mentioned previously, there's the transsexual destruction of the human body, the increasing number of assisted suicides which are viewed as a good thing, and the continuing insistence that life is meaningless and aimless.

Thankfully, life is not meaningless and aimless. There is an aim and a goal to life. That aim and goal cannot be any better expressed than Paul put it in Philippians 3: "Not that I have already grasped it all or have already become perfect, but I press on if I may also take hold of that for which I was even taken hold of by Christ Jesus. Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Let us, as many as are mature, press on to the goal!
