Recently,
I ran across an article entitled “Clergy
gather to bless one of the only U.S. clinics performing late-term abortions.” As you can imagine, I had to do a double take when I saw the word
“clergy” linked with “bless” and “late-term abortions.” Although such
statements shock us, and so they should, they have become all too common in a
society that is increasingly becoming more hedonistic and self-absorbed.
Although human nature has been the same since Adam fell, the Bible makes it
clear that as we approach the coming of the Lord, humanity will become worse
and worse, deceiving and being deceived themselves (2 Timothy 2:13).
That is
what immediately comes to mind when you read some of the comments made by the
“clergy” who participated in this ceremony. Take for example the “Reverend” Carlton Veazey in wording a prayer for the
abortion mill: “God of grace and God of glory, in whom we move and live, keep
them safe and keep them strong. And may they always know that all that they do
is for Thy glory.” This he “prayed” for the doctor and nurses who facilitate
abortions at the clinic and for their patients. You’d be hard pressed to find
anything more despicable than someone trying to bless the murder of the helpless,
especially when those helpless are unborn babies who are in the late stages of
their gestation.
But it is
all part and parcel of the insatiable thirst our society has for their
so-called “freedom.” In the name of freedom, the most detestable practices have
become common place. What once made people blush with shame, is now literally
paraded down the street and blessed as a good and proper activity that God not
only approves, but must also celebrate. You see it in the homosexual “pride”
events, the celebration of so-called diversity that is nothing more than an
orgy of perversion and unimaginable depravity, and so on. Truly, men have
become worse and worse. And in so doing, they have handed the devil the very
scourge with which he mercilessly abuses and punishes them.
The
aforementioned Veazey was one of four “Christian pastors” and one rabbi who
gathered for the blessing ceremony. There was also supposed to be a Hindu
priest, but he could not make it, although the article makes it clear that he
has blessed other abortion clinics. In the case of the Hindu, you could be
forgiven for being bewildered. After all, we are told that people in India
would rather starve than kill a cow because they consider them sacred. Thus, a
cow is sacred and cannot be eaten, even if it means the population must starve
in the process. But a child can be murdered without so much as a tear being
shed for him!
But it
shouldn’t surprise us, since we have witnessed the efforts in this very country
to “save the whales, save the owls, save the bushes,” just don’t worry about
saving the babies! The Jewish rabbi emphatically stated that “Jewish rabbinic authorities, starting with the Middle
Ages, say that a fetus is not a person.” A statement that would befuddle
our Creator who told the Israelites “If
men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she gives
birth prematurely, yet there is no injury, he shall surely be fined as the
woman’s husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. But if there is any further
injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise” (Exodus
21:22-25). Seems obvious that our “Jewish Authorities” are reading the wrong
Torah!
Then we have this from “Reverend” Cari Jackson who described the
clinic as “a space of tremendous
decision-making,” where women often face protesters as they walk into the
medical building that houses the clinic. “We give honor to all these women who
choose to come to this space.” Jackson is an “ordained minister” with the
United Church of Christ (the problems with this individual should be obvious.;
she is not only in violation of God’s decrees concerning women in the church [1
Corinthians 14, 1 Timothy 2], but she also belongs to a universalist group).
And finally, we have the doctor that was perpetrating the murders,
LeRoy Carhart who says that “he believes in God “very strongly,”
but he stopped going to his Methodist church when his pastor told him he was
risking his safety by predictably appearing in the pews every week. Like other
doctors notable for providing late-term abortions, he has faced violence.” It
is indeed the epitome of hutzpah to be afraid for your life when you’re taking
so many helpless ones!
“For after all it is only just for God to repay with
affliction those who afflict you, and
to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord
Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,
dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to
those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These
will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord
and from the glory of His power, when He comes to be
glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have
believed—for our testimony to you was believed” (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10). May
God be merciful to them, and may He save them as a testimony that even the murderers
of the innocent can be redeemed!
Isaiah 5:20 "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" When I read your post above where some think they are doing the work of God facilitating the murder of infants, I can only say that there is the sort of sin that seems to skirt along the edges of propriety. And then there is the sin that is firmly and openly entrenched in overt rebellion against the Word and will of God. The spiritually hapless pro-abortion female "pastors" provide an example of the latter.
ReplyDeleteAs much as you want to feel anger at such blatant rebellion, you also have to feel sadness that people who believe they are doing God's work are so ignorant of the truth. They have blinded themselves to the point that they are incapable any longer of discerning good from evil. No different than the ones who, as the Lord said "there will come a time when those who kill you will think they do God a favor" (John 16:2). May God have mercy upon us!
